How to make post summary on the main page?

After posting the glossary of blogging terms, my blog’s main page became really long After sometime of searching, I found a way to display the post’s summary on the main page: utilizing the “Excerpt” option.

Instruction:

When you write a “Post” => scroll down => under “Advanced Options”, click on “Excerpt” => the excerpt menu will get expanded with a field for you to enter texts => you would enter the post’s summary into that field => this summary will then get displayed on your main blog instead of the full post.
